Gold from
the urban mine

There is more gold in a tonne of circuit boards than in a tonne of gold ore. It's spread across connector pins, RAM contacts, processors and phone boards. We recover it the safe way: graded, documented and assayed, never with backyard acid or fire.

Where it comes from

Where gold
hides

  • 01

    RAM & edge connectors

Gold-plated 'fingers' on memory modules and expansion cards.

  • 02

    Processors (CPUs)

Gold-bonded chips and plated pins on processor packages.

  • 03

    Mobile phone boards

Dense, high-grade boards with gold, silver and palladium.

  • 04

    Server & telecom boards

Large multilayer boards with plated contacts and connectors.

  • 05

    Connectors & pins

Plated contacts from cables, slots and switches.

Inside a tonne of boards

  • Copper200–300 kg
  • Gold~165 g (up to 900 g)
  • Palladium12–15 g

Typical recoverable metal in one tonne of printed circuit boards. Gold content varies widely by board grade. Bars use a log scale.

How we recover it

Four steps,
no shortcuts

See the full extraction process →
  1. 01

    Grade the boards

Boards are sorted into high, medium and low grade, because value depends on precious-metal content.

  2. 02

    Depopulate

Batteries, heat sinks, steel and plastic are removed so only the metal-bearing material remains.

  3. 03

    Controlled recovery

Precious metals are recovered in a controlled, emission-managed process. Never by open burning or acid baths.

  4. 04

    Assay & document

Recovery is backed by weights and assay results, so pricing is transparent.

Questions

Gold FAQ

How much gold is in a mobile phone?+

A single phone holds only a fraction of a gram, but phone boards are among the richest e-waste by weight. That's why phones are collected and processed in bulk, not one at a time.

Do you buy RAM and CPU scrap?+

Yes. RAM, CPUs and gold-finger connectors are high-grade material. We grade and weigh them, and price them by grade.

How is gold recovered from e-waste in India?+

Safely, it's an industrial process: boards are graded, depopulated and the precious metals recovered in controlled conditions. Home methods using acids or burning release toxic fumes, are dangerous and recover far less. Please don't attempt them.

Can I get an assay report?+

For bulk precious-metal lots we provide weights and assay-backed documentation so you know exactly what you're being paid for.

Is my data safe if I sell old devices?+

Yes. Every data-bearing device is logged and its storage wiped or physically destroyed before any recovery, with a Certificate of Data Destruction on request.
